Large-format sign printing uses different resolution standards than paper printing. The appropriate resolution depends on viewing distance:

Signs viewed at close range (trade show displays, point-of-purchase signs, A-frame inserts) — 150 DPI at full size for sharp detail. Signs viewed from moderate distance (storefront panels, directional signs) — 100 to 150 DPI at full size. Large banners and signs viewed from significant distance (building wraps, highway-facing signs) — 72 to 100 DPI at full size.

Our templates include the recommended resolution setting for each product type. Design in CMYK color mode for all substrates. For Pantone color matching, include the Pantone reference number in your file notes — our production team calibrates to PMS standards for brand-critical color accuracy.
